Our college counselor will help you decide on the right college training program for you. Choose among certificate and degree programs at the California community (two-year) colleges as well as junior colleges, four-year colleges and universities across the United States.



  Prepare for Higher Education


Free academic and college counselling is available by appointment at the English Center.

The English Center offers free one-on-one and small-group tutoring to students who need additional help with their classes and homework assignments at the English Center. For college counselling, students may meet with the Programs Counselor and attend special workshops. These workshops include presentation or and assistance with:

  • Writing statements of purpose
  • Filling out college and university applications
  • Writing required application essays
  • Reading and understanding college and university course catalogues
  • Adapting to the culture of the American college or university

  • The English Center has helped its graduates to attend the following institutions, along with many others:

  •   Applying to Colleges and Universities


    The English Center counselors can help you choose and apply to an appropriate college or university. If you plan to continue your studies after the English Center, you should bring with you:

  • Original copies of transcripts (grades) and certified translations;
  • Letters of recommendation from former teachers and/or employers;
  • Financial document or letter of support from parents or other sponsor;
  • Official reports of test scores;
  • Any evidence of awards or honors you have received, or publications or research you have done;
  • If applicable, a portfolio (for artists, designers, or architects)

  •   Provisional Admission


    If you are academically qualified for a degree or certificate programs but cannot yet satisfy the English language requirement, some insituations will admit you provisionally. The English Center has provisional admission agreements with:
